The Heart Gift Foundation

Our Mission:
To provide lifesaving heart surgery to disadvantaged children living in
developing countries where specialized medical intervention is scarce or
nonexistent.

When was the last time you were part of a miracle? Most of us are not
doctors. We're not soldiers or firefighters. And so it isn't everyday that we
get the opportunity to do something truly amazing. It isn't everyday that we
have the chance to help save a dying child's life. But today is not like every
other day. Today may change two lives forever, yours and the life of the
child you help to save.
HeartGift is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of pediatric cardiothoracic
surgeons, doctors, hospitals and volunteer families. It was formed for the
sole purpose of providing desperately needed heart surgery to
underprivileged children around the world.
Hays-Caldwell Women's Center

Our Mission:
The purpose of the Hays-Caldwell Women's Center is to create an
environment where violence and abuse are not tolerated in the
communities we serve. The center will provide education, violence
prevention services, and crisis intervention to victims of family
violence, sexual assault and child abuse. We will seek the support and
resources necessary to achieve this mission.
Our Philosophy:
Physical, sexual, emotional or psychological abuse of one human
being by another is unacceptable. The Hays-Caldwell Women's
Center believes that all abuse diminishes or prohibits the full
expression of life and growth that is every person's right.

Whether you realize it or not,
you probably know someone whose life is touched by violence.
The Heidi Search Center

The Heidi Search Center will assist families, communities,
and law enforcement agencies throughout the United States
in locating and recovering missing children. The center will
also provide parents with the informational tools needed to
effectively protect and safeguard their children from child
predators. And in addition, will teach children the lures
commonly used by child abductors and the necessary
actions to take if threatened.

The Heidi Search Center for Missing Children was
established in August 1990 after the abduction of 11 year old
Heidi Seeman from her neighborhood in Northeast San
Antonio. On August 4, Heidi was abducted while walking
home from spending the night at a friend's house. A search
was initiated by her father and grew rapidly from a small
group of family and friends to thousands in the community.
Milagros Heart Group

Milagros, a support group for families of children with
congenital heart defects in central Texas, provides not only
one friend but many friends with similar experiences. The
organization was created at Children's Hospital of Austin by a
group of parents who felt that mutual support could ease the
difficulties, both emotional and practical, of caring for the
precious and fragile lives of their children.  Milagros is
sponsored and supported by Children's Hospital of Austin.
