| Roberto, 10 years old Our first heartgift patient! His birthday fell while he was here recovering. We got him a very simple gift, a short and t-shirt set. We also included a 8x10 Spiderman card. He was so excited about this gift that at lunch on his birthday he took it with him and proudly showed it off to everyone! He even wore the outfit home the day they flew back to Dominican Republic. We are truly the ones who received the blessing to have had our lives touched by his! His surgery went very well. He and his mom are back home and healthy. "I think they are beginning to understand and comprehend the enormous amount of love you all are giving them. It is all so overwhelming. They really live a very rural, impoverished life at home, so they don't quite know how to handle the generosity of strangers. It is like winning some lottery and being in shock.
